About the Creators

Mary Higgins Rokosz

Mary Higgins Rokosz has been fascinated with watercolor from a very young age and took her first watercolor class at the age of eight. She earned a BA in Graphic Design and worked as a graphic designer in Connecticut before moving to Merrimac, MA, where she started a small greeting card company and facilitated many art programs for young children. She still resides in Merrimac with her husband, two grown daughters, and her Old English Sheepdog. She draws inspiration for her paintings from nature—particularly flowers and foliage. In the words of Claude Monet: "I must have flowers, always, and always!" Mary currently holds memberships with the Haverhill, Newburyport, and Ipswich Art Associations.

Kristina Brendel

Kristina Brendel has spent her life looking at things, and trying to understand them better. Photography became a  way of capturing moments for the purpose of examination. Since 1992 she has explored documentary subjects in far flung places like the Sonoran Desert, Macedonian refugee camps during the Kosovo War, and zone of exclusion around the ruined Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant... among other places a bit closer to home. Her work has been exhibited in solo shows in Arizona, Massachusetts, and Kyiv, Ukraine. By day she is the mild-mannered director of the tour program at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate, and Artistic Director of Castle Hill Productions, an award-winning theatre company on Castle Hill.

A selection of her work can be seen here.
