A moment
stretches
over the wingspan
of waxed feathers
that speak to me of danger
the same way you speak my name

As I drip with desire
paraffin,
and shame.

Not fleeting, but flying from dreaming to dying metered and metaphysical in a place between
Here and There.
–I lie.

​

When then meets now
an invisible whisper
leads me closer to the sun, like a fly

to the bottom of a wine glass.

Meet the Creators

Angelina Benitez

Angelina Benitez (she/they) also known as "she moves and makes" is a dance maker, visual artist, and now poet working in the Greater Boston area. She graduated with a B.A. in Contemporary/Modern dance in 2018 from Salem State University and continues to make dance through The Click, a Boston based dance collective and teaches at High Street Studios in Ipswich. In their sparse free time you can find them polar plunging, embroidering, or meditating in her back yard. Stay in touch @shemovesandmakes on Instagram.

Linda Davis

Since an early age Linda has been centered on the creative process. Starting in the fine arts arena (painting, photography) over time her creativity was in professional life as a goldsmith and an acupuncturist. This breadth of life experience contributes to her present vision. Although it's been an off and on engagement with photography for over 50 years, she's recently found new inspiration integrating diverse perspectives with new tools and technology. Her images evoke stories and states deep within each of us, not easily accessed through language. As without, so within!
