About the Creators

Linda Shields Swicker

Linda Shields Swicker is a mostly self-taught arts and music hobbyist, She has drawn inspiration from her family (father for painting and cousin for guitar.) Early paintings were on discarded sheetrock from father’s carpentry jobs. Those experiences led to a passion for repurposing materials.  Much later there was a shift to fabric arts, transforming discarded wool and cotton into vibrant quilts and rugs. This spirit of creative reuse has further evolved into paper collage—combining unfinished watercolors, vintage photos and thrifted ephemera. Linda enjoys creating stories from these antique finds in fun, colorful collages. She also enjoys playing guitar in her Irish band MILE LANE as well as working up tunes and songs on tenor banjo, mandolin and ukulele.

Julie Banks

Julie Banks is an award-winning artist based in Beverly, Massachusetts. She works mainly in watercolor and oil/soft pastels, but her creative process is constantly evolving as she experiments with new mediums and techniques.The inspiration for her art comes from nature and its bold and vivid color palette.
